Company Offering Various Options for Engine Overhauls
DETROIT, Michigan – Detroit Diesel Corporation is making it easier for fleet managers and owner/operators to understand the options available to overhaul their heavy-duty Series 60® engine through a program called StepUP™.
The company’s StepUP™ Overhaul Program offers four levels of overhauls to help extend the life of a Series 60, depending on length of ownership of the engine and its application. Additionally, customers can feel confident that their trucks will be back on the road quicker with a StepUP™ overhaul option because critical components are packaged or grouped into each step so less time is spent at the service outlet searching for and ordering and installing individual components.
For operators with lower mileage, fewer problems, or looking for the value package, a “Step 1” is a great start. The program builds from there, adding a cylinder head and rocker arm assembly in a Step 2, a complete injector changeout, water pump and turbocharger for a Step 3, and a remanufactured swing engine for Step 4.
“We’ve specifically designed our StepUP™ Overhaul Program to be flexible enough to accommodate the needs of customers depending on where they are with the lifecycle of their Series 60. We certainly don’t believe in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ philosophy when it comes to overhauling an engine because we know that just doesn’t work for those who rely on Series 60 power,” said Jeff Wallis, General Manager of Parts Sales and Marketing. “We also have developed the program to minimize downtime by grouping all the necessary components for each option. That means less time is spent looking for and ordering parts so a truck can be up-and-running much sooner, which equates to higher profitability for truck owners.”
The reliabilt® parts that are used for the StepUP™ Overhaul Packages are not rebuilt, they’re remanufactured back to factory blueprint specifications, offering customers peace-of-mind when it comes to getting back a highly reliable and high quality product. In addition to flexible options, Detroit Diesel’s StepUP™ Overhauls are backed by superior warranty coverage.
“Every part used for a StepUP™ overhaul is either new or completely remanufactured – not just spot-repaired like some of our non-genuine competitors,” explained Wallis. “And the best part is that we offer outstanding warranty coverage for our customers.”
