Series 60 delivers reliability/durability for truck driver
DETROIT, Michigan, Detroit Diesel today announced it has donated an engine – a completely remanufactured Series 60® – to Richard Crowder of Nashville, Tennessee, to complement the incredible interior and exterior truck make-over he received from the “Trick My Truck” show that is featured on Country Music Television (CMT). The episode featuring Crowder’s truck aired Friday, September 22.
Crowder, who owns a Freightliner FLD, was selected out of hundreds of entries to have his truck completely made over with the help of CMT. Having a strong sense of faith is important to Crowder so the truck was given the name of “Higher Power” and design improvements followed this theme, transforming the vehicle into his own personal sanctuary. The truck renovation was performed by the Chrome Shop Mafia of 4 State Trucks in Joplin, Missouri.
Enhancements to the truck included stained glass, a plasma flat screen TV, chrome straight pipes, a custom sound system and a custom interior. The finishing touch to the make-over was the installation of a remanufactured heavy-duty Series 60 engine, which was installed by Barloworld Truck Center in Springdale, Arkansas.
“Barloworld continues to be a proud sponsor of the Trick My Truck show. Occasions like this allow us to demonstrate our level of commitment and initiative to customer service. Congratulations to Mr. Crowder and we hope he enjoys his new ride,” said Adam Arrington, General Manager of Barloworld Truck Center in Springdale.
This is the second remanufactured engine Detroit Diesel has donated to the “Trick My Truck” show. The first engine recipient was Darlene Swift of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, who was featured in the first season of the show with her revamped Freightliner that was called “Free Spirit”.
“The Trick My Truck show is really a tremendous opportunity for Detroit Diesel to support drivers and owner/operators who are in need of a little help to keep them on the road and trucking along smoothly,” said Friedrich Baumann, President of Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing. “Detroit Diesel has been remanufacturing heavy-duty diesel engines for nearly 40 years so this was a good chance for us to demonstrate to the world that a remanufactured engine provides a remarkable level of reliability and durability for drivers.”
