Detroit Connect Offered on Freightliner Cascadia Truck Models with Cummins Engines

ORLANDO, Fla. – Oct. 21, 2013 – Detroit Diesel Corporation (Detroit) todayannounced the availability of its DetroitTM Connect solutions for all new Freightliner Cascadia® truck models equipped with Cummins diesel and natural gas engines. Offered as a factory-installed option beginning Q1 2014, the Detroit Connect suite of telematics solutions – which includes Visibility fleet software and the new On-Board Tablet – provide the critical link between vehicles, drivers and fleet managers, enhancing uptime and performance.

Visibility fleet software monitors and delivers real-time fleet data to track the status of one or all of the trucks. The software generates reports that provide detailed information on vehicle location, speed, mileage, routes, stop times, idle times and more to help managers make valuable adjustments that ultimately enhance fleet productivity.

Introduced September 2013, the Detroit Connect On-Board Tablet is an advanced mobile device equipped with powerful apps to track Hours-of-Service logs for reporting; Two-Way Messaging including text to voice; Advanced Navigation for asset-specific routing and simplified Pre- and Post-trip Inspection to streamline driver efficiency. The On-Board Tablet is certified compliant with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Hours of Service regulations. Purchase of the On-Board Tablet includes Visibility fleet software.
