DETROIT ASSURANCE WITH ABA6 SUITE OF SAFETY SYSTEMS

ACTIVE BRAKE ASSIST 6

Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA6) improves the performance of our previous generation with 5 all-new short- and long-range radars, a new camera and new software. Safety is enhanced to an even greater degree by increasing the variety of scenarios and conditions the system is able to react to, helping mitigate more potential collisions and improve uptime.

• Full Braking on Moving and Stationary Pedestrians and Bicyclists ABA6 can detect a person who is walking into or standing in the truck’s path. It issues audio and visual warnings with simultaneous partial braking first, followed by full braking if the driver does not react.
• Full Braking on Moving and Stationary Vehicles ABA6 can identify moving or stationary vehicles in the truck’s path. When the system detects a potential obstacle, it issues audio and visual warnings. Depending on the situation, partial and full braking will be activated subsequently if necessary.
• New Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) capabilities that further enhance system performance, including:
  • Multi-lane ABA
  • ABA in curves
  • ABA on vehicles positioned at angles and offset vehicles
  • Increased object classification ability
  • Increased field of view

SIDE GUARD ASSIST 2

Side Guard Assist 2 (SGA2) now alerts drivers to vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists on both driver- and passenger-sides – from the front of the cab to the end of a standard trailer. SGA2 is a passive collision mitigation system created to keep the driver in control. Rather than de-throttling or stopping the vehicle, the system warns the driver of moving people or objects on either side, alerting them before making a turn or lane change that could result in an incident.

ACTIVE SIDE GUARD ASSIST

Active Side Guard Assist (ASGA) takes the safety of SGA2 one step further. In addition to alerting drivers to people and objects on driver- and passenger-sides, ASGA uses industry-leading technology to apply braking at speeds less than 12 mph if no corrective action is taken to address passenger-side alerts. This can help prevent a truck from making a right turn into a moving cyclist or pedestrian, improving safety and driver confidence.

ACTIVE LANE ASSIST 2

The newest generation of Active Lane Assist, ALA2, now includes even more features to help keep drivers and motorists safe. With the help of fused camera and radar technology, ALA2 keeps a truck centered in its lane and corrects lane swerving. It also creates easier steering and greater comfort for drivers by reducing vibrations, as well as offering steering assistance in cross winds, after blow-outs, and during low-speed maneuvering.

• Lane Keep Assist (LKA) identifies lane markers and helps the driver keep the vehicle centered in its lane.
• Lane Departure Protection (LDP) detects when the truck is drifting out of its lane without an active turn signal and actively steers it back on course.
• Lane Change Assist (LCA) intentionally steers the truck back into its lane if attempting to enter an occupied lane to its right or left at speeds greater than 37 mph even if the turn signal is applied.
• Attentive Driver Protection helps protect the driver and surrounding traffic in the unlikely event the driver becomes unresponsive, actively bringing the truck to a stop while keeping it centered in its lane and turning on the hazard lights.

FRONT GUARD ALERT

Front Guard Alert (FGA) is our newest Detroit Assurance® feature. When stopped or at low speeds, short-range radar units activate to detect any crossing or stationary pedestrians and bicyclists in front of or close to the sides of the truck. If detected, this passive system uses a visual and audible alert to warn the driver of the risk, helping avoid incidents and improve safety.
